“Boker Tov” Sunday brunch at JCC Warszawa. Elzbieta Siczek, center, seated and laughing with hands on head, sharing a joke with Piotr Klapec (left), and friends. Elzbieta didn’t know she was Jewish as her parents had never said. In 2002 she met a distant cousin who told her she was Jewish. She then understood things from her childhood like her mother baking challah, keeping garlic on the tablecloth and Saturday being special with (what she later learned) Ashkenazi cooking. “My life was like a puzzle.
